CBS School of Accounting Honours Scholarship

Curtin Business School (CBS) is the largest teaching division of Curtin University and one of the most comprehensive business teaching facilities in Australia. The CBS School of Accounting Honours Scholarship has been developed by the School of Accounting within CBS to support Honours year students who have chosen Accounting as a career path. The Scholarship is offered to Curtin students who are commencing full time in an Accounting Honours major.

Value
Each Scholarship will provide $3000 towards student tuition for the Honours year. The payment will be made towards fees in two instalments of $1,500.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to receive the CBS School of Accounting Honours Scholarship:
  • Be enrolling full-time (100 credits) in an Accounting Honours Major- SPK 301599.
  • Maintain a high academic standard throughout the duration of their undergraduate degree.
  • The recipient must demonstrate academic merit and a keen interest and commitment towards study/training in the Accounting field.
Enrolment requirements
Unless there are exceptional circumstances such as but not limited to medical or family reasons students must meet ALL of the following:
  • Remain enrolled in initial course of study
  • Maintain a full time study load of 100 credit points each semester at Curtin University
  • Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 70 each semester
  • Pass all units attempted each semester
Scholarship continuity is subject to meeting satisfactory academic progress as detailed above. Progress will be assessed at the end of each study period. Unless there are exceptional circumstances, a recipient with unsatisfactory progress or who breaches the scholarship conditions shall be ineligible to retain the scholarship. Exceptional circumstances must be forwarded to and shall be at the discretion of the Manager, Scholarships Office.
The scholarship is available for the remaining duration of the honours year. For example, if the normal remaining honours year degree duration is 200 credits of study, the scholarship will cover 200 credit points only. Any study that is taken over and above the honours year will be at the student’s expense. No extensions beyond the honours year will be considered.
Changes to enrolment
If a recipient intends to do any of the following they must also apply in writing to the Scholarships Office (scholarships@curtin.edu.au) for approval BEFORE the change.
Change from full time enrolment: The Scholarships Office will advise how the change will affect your scholarship.
Change of course: Change of course is NOT permitted.
Leave of absence: Leave of Absence is not Permitted.
Withdrawal or Terminated from units or course: A student who withdraws from their units or course of study, or has been terminated from studies will become ineligible for continuation of the scholarship, will not receive any further payments and will be required to repay to the University the stipend awarded for that study period if applicable.
